Boxing is known as a combat sport and martial art in which two people fight using their fists for competition. And the winner is determined either by the referee's decision or by judges' scorecards. But there are boxers what we called a Professional Boxer and a Amateur Boxer. In Professional boxing usually much longer than amateur bouts, typically ranging from ten to twelve rounds, though four round fights are common for less experienced fighters or club fighters. In amateur boxing may be found at the collegiate level like at the Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. Each boxer wears shorts approved by the sanctioning body in the color of their corner and they required to have headgear and a sleeveless shirt in the color of their corner. Amateurs are bound by an approved glove.

In professional boxing, the color and design of the shorts is left up to each fighter and is not regulated and professional boxers have only a minimum weight of glove. Professionals fight bare-chested and without headgear. All boxers also wear gloves, ranging in weight from 8-16oz in a amateur bouts and 6-12oz in professional bouts.

Boxing styles include boxer/out-fighter, boxer-puncher, brawler/slugger, swarmers/in-fighter, counter puncher and style match-ups. Go! Filipinos and do not stop dreaming, show your talents and tell the world that we are the best.

Boxing has truly put the Philippines on the map. It has been a source of pride fro Filipinos at a time when we needed to be cheered up. It has been a big source of joy when our boxers win their bouts from the small to the big purse fights. May we find and train the future stars of boxing who will be new sources of joy for Filipinos. We will continue to love the sport and the Philippine sports portal http://www.psep.tv supports boxing in the Philippines.
